WE LOVE BOATS

We've been married for 36 years, and most of our vacations together have been on boats. Our very first trip was on a cruise ship in 1984. Definitely not our thing any more.

Then friends introduced us to Lake Powell in 1996 and that led to 24 trips with the boys and many friends and family members.

A 40th birthday celebration for a friend turned into a bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands in 2000 and we were hooked (pun intended.)

We joined Tradewinds Cruise Club in 2008 where we've enjoyed 13 sail trips throughout the Caribbean and Greece with incredible crews taking care of our every need.

Now we're on our own. The most often-asked question we get is, "do you know how to sail?!" Our answer is, "sailing is not the most challenging aspect." It's all of the other things we're learning from engine, generator, water maker and general boat maintenance, to anchoring, mooring and docking. What we know more than anything, is that the weather dictates everything and that patience is a necessity.
